Mazda 6 Or Mazda 3 Which One is Better?
Reader’s Question:
I think the Mazda 3 is pretty cramped for me and my wife, and I’m thinking of getting something bigger but I’m tempted to check out the other cars out there. Should I even consider the Mazda 6 as an option for me right now as our ride of choice here in Texas?
Christian
Houston, TX
Say it with me, Christian, “zoom, zoom, zoom.” Goodness, that old Mazda ad’s stuck in my head. Okay, enough zoom with the Mazda 3, so let’s go big with the Mazda 6. Yeah, Christian, I still think the Mazda 6 is worth a shot for you and your wife in Texas. What’s there worth checking in the Mazda 6? Read on.
Well, if its space that you want, this mid-size sedan definitely has enough for both you and your wife and a few kids as well. Features raved by current owners of this car range from performance to driver/ passenger conveniences like keyless entry, keyless ignition, dual climate control, satellite radio, blind spot monitoring, rain-sensing wipers and even seat memory. For power, there’s a 272 hp 3.7 liter V6 Mazda 6 available, if you are leaning towards fuel economy, you can always opt for a 170 hp 2.5 liter 4-cylinder trim. These are denoted by either “i” or “s” on the trim level. Having an “i” gives you the 4-cylinder and “s” means you’ll get a V6. Trims range from i-SV, i-Sport, i-Touring, i-Grand Touring, s- Sport, s-Touring and s-Grand Touring. The differences among these trims just revolve around the luxury appointments and electronics you get in the car, much like those I mentioned earlier.
Should I Buy a Mazda Tribute?
Reader’s Question:
What SUV choices are there from Mazda? My wife is bugging me to check out some cars at the local dealers here in Texas. I’ve heard a friend mention the Tribute. Is it any good?
Alex
Houston, TX
Hello, Alex. Choosing an SUV usually depends on the type of use you have planned for the vehicle. You have to decide based on whether the car is for daily use or you plan on a lot of outdoor weekend trips. You should also base your decision on your expected seating for the vehicle. Do you have a large family, a lot of friends or simply a lot of cargo to haul? Let’s base our decision on these.
Fortunately enough for you, there is only one SUV from Mazda. This car has been around for quite some time now, so pay tribute to the Tribute. Space-wise you can seat about 5 and get more than 65 cubic feet of storage with the 60/40 knockdown rear seat. In my opinion, that is ample space for an entire family load of luggage or other gear. Depending on your use, you can choose from either the i-class or the s-class that have the 4-cylinder 2.5 L DOHC VVT that packs about 171 hp or the 6-cylinder 240 hp 3.0 L DOHC VVT engines respectively. Three trims are available per class and they differ in terms of transmission types (manual or automatic) and some cosmetic features. Trims available are Sport, Touring and Grand Touring. In terms of drive systems, there is also an option for 4WD available for all trims.
Have fun with the Tribute, Alex
Mazda MX-5 Miata One Fine Ride For The Money or a Flop?
Reader’s Question:
Hello, I have always loved Mazda’s MX-5 Miata since it first came out 10 years ago. However, I’m being tempted to get a Pontiac Solstice, which I think has great styling also. So, what do you think? Should I be seen in a new MX-5 around Houston, Texas or go with another car?
Joey
Houston, TX
Hey, Joey. How are you doing there in Houston, Texas?? Wonderin whether you saw the photo of a red 2008 Pontiac Solstice or was that a Saturn Sky? I still get confused from afar. That’s what you get for churning out twins. Kidding aside, that’s GM’s issue. Here is what I have got to say about your dilemma. Stick with the MX-5. You sound like a true Miata lover and like all “loving” relationships, there comes temptation. For you, temptation came in a package called “Solstice.” Sure, GM’s packed this baby (and its twin, the Sky), with enough candy to make you salivate. So let me just say, whoa, whoa, whoa! Take a pause and a deep breather before making that leap, alright?
Now, allow me to give you some “counseling” here. I mean, you can patch things up and rekindle the sparks with a new MX-5. Like, what have you got to lose? Under the hood, there is still that 4-cylinder 2.0 liter engine that you’ve always appreciated. The 2008 MX-5 still handles well and, in my opinion, revs quicker than a Solstice. In terms of design, I do think the MX-5 is a classic compared to a ’08 Solstice. Oh, and the roomier trunk space is a winner for me, too. That’s why I’m sticking with mine.
What is The Best Houston Mazda Dealer?
I think it’s pretty obvious what the best Houston Mazda is, and that’s the Miata, which has a long history as one of the best convertible sports cars in the industry, so obviously best Houston Mazda would be no trick for it. I bought mine from Gillman best Houston Mazda, and I was able to negotiate it down a couple thousand, although it’s already cheap for its class.
I think that the Miata is the best Houston Mazda I’ve driven especially when it comes to fun–you don’t know it until you experience it. In addition to that, it’s very economic and quick.
Should You Use This Houston Mazda Dealer?
The first car which caught my eye at my Houston Mazda dealer was the Mazda3, a very small car which is what I was looking for since I don’t like bulky cars. Still, I wanted to have room to move around in, which is something rare in compact cars. As my dealer salesperson showed me, the Mazda3 is unique in its spaciousness–I think this is because it is a lot less cluttered and bulky than other compact cars. You cut down on a lot of room when you make things easy to understand.
Since bringing my Mazda3 home from my dealer, I’ve gotten used to its agile handling and great storage space. The fuel economy isn’t quite what I thought it would be, but it’s still up there. The dealer I used was Joe Meyers Mazda, and I liked dealing with Daniel in new car sales.
Should I Use The Auto Loan Financing At a Houston Mazda Dealership?
Just to start out with a disclaimer, I have almost perfect credit, so I was one of the very few people who could be approved for zero percent financing at my local Houston Mazda dealership. Since only seven percent of applicants can do that, I’m talking to that seven percent to whom the dealership gives a choice.
If your dealer offers you a choice between zero percent financing and a rebate of $2000+, take the rebate! I had this option from my Mazda dealership and did the math, and while with the zero percent financing I would have ended up paying only a few cents more than the purchase price of the car, with the rebate I ended up paying a thousand dollars less.
Houston Mazda Trucks – B Series Is Best?
If you’re looking for a Mazda truck, stop right there, because as a Houston Mazda truck owner, I can point you in the right direction. The Mazda truck B Series 2007 is a fantastic truck, and even better, it’s on sale right now.
The best times of the year to buy a car are during the summer (too late for that, mate) and during November-December, since normal people don’t buy cars during the holiday rush. Don’t be normal, because if you aren’t normal you could save thousands on a Mazda truck with rugged underpinnings and excellent handling.
Houston Mazda CX-7
I like my cars to have a kind of natural look, which is one of the reasons I bought the Mazda CX-7. It reminds me of some of the larger sea life you’ll find if you go far enough out. It’s also large enough for us humans–seats five people, though I never need it for that many, giving us way more room than usual.
Although the Mazda CX-7 looks like a serene slow goer, it really packs some verve when it gets out on the road. It handles like a sports car (believe me, I know) and has a turbocharged engine that makes me want to drive an hour out of town just to let it loose on the roads. I bought it at a great price at Joe Meyers Mazda in Houston Texas….right about $17K with what I wanted on it.
Would You Recommend A Mazda Dealer in Houston Please?
I was looking for a sports utility vehicle at my local Mazda dealer in Houston, and I found the Mazda Tribute. It was on sale since they have the 2008 cars coming in, and it had a style that I didn’t see in many cars at the Mazda dealer in Houston.
I had seen the Tribute before the last time I came to a dealer in Houston several years ago, and it has changed a lot since then, mostly when it comes to the design, which has been updated and styled out. It’s a very comfortable SUV, although for people who want something a little more off-road ready they might have to keep looking around. I have heard good things about Gillman and Joe Myers Mazda dealers, can anyone give a recommendation on either one?
Which Houston Mazda Dealership Has The Best Repair Shop?
Q: Which of the Mazda dealerships in Houston has the best car repair?
A: Well, I have bought two Mazdas from Mazda dealerships in Houston, and I know people who have bought from other Mazda dealerships in Houston, so I asked a few people and we have come to this conclusion.
Of all the Mazda dealerships in Houston, it comes down to Joe Myers and Fred Haas, and we couldn’t decide which one was better. Both Mazda dealerships in Houston are very fast about fixing cars, and the vehicles come away fixed and ready to go. These Mazda dealerships in Houston also have great customer service and accommodate customers whose cars are being fixed with rentals and shuttles.
